Phenix City, AL - Week 13

Dear Family,

Our investigator is ready to be baptized this Saturday, she is excited about it, and I hope everything goes through!  We also had an awesome experience yesterday at church.  It was after Priesthood and we were walking down the hallway when a member stopped us.  He introduced to us a man named Louis.  We introduced ourselves and he informed us of why he had come into the church today.  Louis had been going through many hard experiences in his life recently.  He said has never believed in God his whole life, but since he was in a tough situation he wanted to find out who this God guy everyone was exactly talking about.  So he walked down the street and came into the first church he found, which happened to be our church!  We have an appointment tonight with him so it should be awesome.  The Lord truly prepares people to receive the Gospel.

We split the area halfway and we have the North and the other elders have the South.  Our area is pretty big though, so I am glad we have a car.

Thank you so much for all that you do for me! I love you all so much!

Love,

Elder Hinrichs

Phenix City, AL - Week 12

Dear Family,

Sorry this is a day later than you all were expecting due to Martin Luther King Day, but I will be staying in Phenix City for another transfer with Elder Duran.

The Sisters were taken out of the area and the other Elders will be moving into their apartment, and the other Elders also are going to be in a tripanionship. Most exciting of all though is that we got the sister's car!!  This next transfer looks like it is already at a good start!

Our investigator is scheduled to be baptized on January 31st.  She is going to be interviewed this Saturday for baptism.  We are actually going to help a member move a washer into their place since they don't have one, and we will be teaching her the last of the lessons.  I am thankful that we will probably be able to see her get baptized!

Elder Anderson just happened to be traveling through the area and gave us some of his time to see us.  It was still a pretty special experience.  I am hoping this next transfer will go well and we will be able to create more success.  I love you all so much!

Phenix City, AL - Week 11

Dear Family,

Our Mission Conference with Elder Anderson was awesome!  I wish it was longer so I could learn more.  He and his wife were the main speakers.  They talked about how to be kind to all people including yourself.  It will help you clearly see God's will for you and allow the spirit to work more clearly.  They taught some interesting points.  I was glad to have this opportunity to meet another of the fifteen people in the world that we sustain as prophets, seers, and revelators.

Our investigator seems to be progressing well and she has a good knowledge of what we believe.   Her baptism date is set for January 31st.  The member support has been going good now.  The cold has been interesting to bike in. I never thought I would wear a scarf in my life, but the one that the Watts sent me is awesome when I’m going down steep hills with cold winter air.
I love you all so much!!

Phenix City, AL - Week 10

Dear Family,

We were able to teach our new investigator this week and she prayed to know if the Book of Mormon is true and she received her answer!  She still really wants to be baptized.  When we taught her the Plan of Salvation she already knew most of it.  We were really excited to see her at church on Sunday, and she seemed perfectly comfortable being there.  It has been cool to see the Lord preparing people for us to teach.

Well this year of 2015 will most likely go by really quick as did 2014.  To start it off, Elder Neil Andersen is coming on Saturday to Macon and we are having a mission wide conference.  I am pretty excited to see what he will bring to this mission.  I am really hoping he will inspire our mission so we can reach a greater potential and success rate.  I am confident that all will go well.  Well Happy New Year!  I love you all so much!

Love,

Elder Hinrichs
