Nashville, GA - Week 3

Dear Family,

This week was really good!  We have been working on re-building the wards’ trust in this area.  Some previous missionaries, that were not the most obedient, lost the members trust.  So we have been going and visiting all the members we can, since it is a smaller ward, and gaining that trust back.  We are doing this by visiting the people and sharing testimonies with one another and allowing the spirit to teach and touch their hearts rather than being preached at.  Because we bring the spirit to their homes it allows them to see that we are serious about the missionary work and the gospel.  So they have been bringing the investigators to us.  I honestly have not gone knocking once in this area, because we have so many people to see and teach.

We are working with people all over the ward boundaries.  The new family has been taking the lessons for about 4 weeks or so and they are feeding us this Saturday.  I was asked to give a talk about missionary work at church this Sunday.  I have been surprised to see how much more comfortable I have become when I talk at the pulpit than I was at the beginning of my mission.

It is Elder Morgan's last week in the mission field and he will go home on Monday.  He leaves for the Mission Home Sunday evening.  He has been a good companion and I am glad to have been able to contribute to his missionary efforts.  Hopefully Elder Hatch and I will get to stay in Nashville together for one or more transfers together.  Transfer calls are this Saturday so I will be sure to let you all know.  I love you all so much!

Love,

Nashville, GA - Week 2

Dear Family,

I had a really awesome week!  I have been seeing the workings of the spirit and seeing people's lives being turned towards God!  We have been working with a family of seven.  They actually fed us dinner on Sunday and it was the best barbeque pulled pork I have ever had!  We had a lesson with them and after the lesson they all said they would come to church this next Sunday because they have been looking for one.

Nashville Georgia is a small town full of nice people.  It is like Vidalia but a nicer area.  I am in a car, which is super nice, and Nashville isn't too big.  Elder Hatch has been out on his mission for 20 months and has been in Nashville for one transfer.  Elder Morgan has been out for 23 1/2 months and will be going home at the end of this transfer.  We get along good and work really hard.  In the ward there is about 100 people that come to church.  The people are pretty active in the gospel and have great testimonies.  I am loving the work in Nashville.

I love you all so much!

Love,

Elder Hinrichs

Week 1 - Nashville, GA

Dear Family,

What an eventful week!  Especially the last few days. I have an interesting story for you all.  So this week I talked to President in an interview and he decided we were going to do a transfer.  On Saturday President called us and said that I would be the person getting transferred out.  That evening I quickly packed all my things.  Sunday just happened to be Stake Conference and President Cottle just happened to be there.  So I went with President and Sister Cottle and they met up with two missionaries, Elder Hatch and Elder Morgan.  Those two are now my new companions and now I am serving in Nashville Georgia.

I actually already love it down here and it has only been my first day!  This area has so much potential, the members are awesome, and I get along great with my companions!  It was a blessing in disguise but I feel like I am supposed to be down here!  It just feels good.  Well I am sure this is all a big surprise but it is the Lord's will. I love you all so much!

Love,

Elder Hinrichs
